Body
WHEREAS, the Mattie Rhodes Center has requested anti-drug sales tax funding for its "Westport CAN Center;" and,
WHEREAS, this program addresses problems associated with drug abuse and crime involving Westside residents and homeless immigrant men; and
WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission desires to assist this organization and now recommends that an agreement be executed for the prevention of drug and drug-related offenses, at a cost to the County of $15,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this agreement, a transfer within the 2003 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfer; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2003 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an agreement with the Mattie Rhodes Center for its Westport CAN program, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.
