Body
WHEREAS, the Charter Task Force appointed by the County Executive has recommended that an amended Charter be adopted by the County Legislature and submitted to a vote of the qualified voters of Jackson County, Missouri, as set forth in the document entitled Proposed 2010 Jackson County Charter; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends the adoption of the proposed Charter Amendment which provides for repeal of the current Charter and adoption of the Proposed 2010 Jackson County Charter; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that there is hereby submitted to the qualified voters of Jackson County, Missouri for approval or disapproval a proposition to amend the Jackson County Charter as set forth in the document entitled Proposed 2010 Jackson County Charter at the primary election to be held in Jackson County, Missouri on the first Tuesday next following the first Monday in August, 2010.
Section The Jackson County Charter adopted by vote on November 3, 1970, and as amended in public vote on August 8, 1978, April 2, 1985, November 4, 1986 and August 2, 1994 is hereby repealed and the Proposed 2010 Jackson County Charter as filed in final form with the Clerk of the Legislature on May 25, 2010, is hereby adopted in lieu thereof as the 2010 Jackson County Charter.
