Body
WHEREAS, the Parks + Rec Department has boats and equipment that are no longer in use or are inoperable and therefore need to be declared surplus in order to be sold or disposed of pursuant to Chapter 11, Jackson County Code, 1984; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 21597, dated April 15, 2024, the Legislature did authorize auction services for the sale of County owned property and equipment to Purple Wave of Manhattan, KS; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that the County-owned equipment listed on the attached declaration and transfer form be declared surplus and unusable and disposed of via auction by Purple Wave pursuant to section 1131.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks + Rec has requested and the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that any unusable equipment listed on the attached forms be declared surplus and disposed of pursuant to section 1141. of the Code; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County property further described and itemized in the attached declaration forms be and hereby is declared surplus, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to turnover said property to Purple Wave for auction, as provided in section 1131.1 of the Jackson County Code, or disposed of by the Director via recycling, salvaging, or other means authorized by section 1141. of the Code.


































Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
