Body
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Tribe plays in the Independent Women's Football Leagues, which consists of fifty-one teams nationwide, with 1,500 women playing in the league each year; and,
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Tribe defeated the Los Angeles Amazons and the Chicago Force on their way to the World Championship Title in Round Rock, Texas, on July 25, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, the World Championship Title match-up placed the 24 Kansas City Tribe players against the full 45 woman roster of the Washington DC Divas ; and,
WHEREAS, this year marked the Tribe's second season and first World Championship, and the Tribe ended with a 10-1 record for the 2009 season; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Kansas City Tribe on winning the World Championship Title in women's professional football.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
