Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4171, dated November 16, 2009, the legislature did adopt the 2009 edition of the International Building Code and the other International family of construction codes; and,

WHEREAS, the effective date of the 2009 edition of the International Buildings Codes is ninety (90) days after the adoption of Ordinance 4171 or on March 1, 2010; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works now recommends that the 2009 International Plumbing Code be replaced by the 2009 Uniform Plumbing Code as it has been found to be more descriptive, detailed and provides explanations that make it superior to the 2009 International Plumbing Code; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Enacting Clause. Sections 5400., Jackson County Code, 1984, are hereby repealed, and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 5400., to read as follows:

5400. Building Code.
Certain documents, copies of which are on file and are open for inspection by the public in the offices of the director of public works, being marked and designated as:

International Code Conference, 2009 Edition, published by the International Code Council; and, International Building Codes, 2009 Edition, published by the International Code Council, as modified or amended in the International Building Code Standards referenced below:
