Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 22142 dated December 15, 2025, a limited professional services contract was authorized for legal recruitment; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Counselor's Office has an urgent need to fill a Deputy County Counselor position, which has been open for over 60 days; and,
WHEREAS, due to the complex legal needs of the County, the typical means of recruiting a candidate with the necessary experience have been unsuccessful; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Counselor has various duties and civil trials that require additional staff immediately; and,
WHEREAS, Branch Recruiting will not receive any payment unless a viable candidate is recruited and hired by Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Jackson County Counselor be and hereby is authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement addendum with Branch Recruiting of Kansas City, MO, for legal recruitment at a cost to the County not to exceed $20,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are contained in the then-current County budget.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
