AN ORDINANCE appropriating $5,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1998 General Fund, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with the Twelfth Street Heritage Development Corporation for predevelopment funds for planning and building new homes for the Heritage Homes Program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $5,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to assist in the development of the inner city; and,
WHEREAS, the County deems it to be in the best interest of the citizenry to support programs involved in community redevelopment; and,
WHEREAS, the Twelfth Street Heritage Development Corporation has been actively involved in community redevelopment since January 1985, and is currently involved in planning and building new homes for the Heritage Homes Program; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund the cost of this program an appropriation is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation as an amendment to her proposed 1998 Jackson County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1998 General Fund:

and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive is authorized to execute an agreement with the Twelfth Street Heritage Development Corporation for funding of predevelopment and personnel costs not to exceed $5,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance be, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.
