Body
WHEREAS, the County has a need to address the increasing homicide rate in Kansas City and there is an established nexus between crimes of violence and drug-related crimes; and,

WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended the execution of a Cooperative Agreement ("Agreement") with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department ("KCPD") to provide $30,000.00 to the KCPD for overtime funding; and,

WHEREAS, the KCPD has proposed to use the $30,000.00 provided under the Agreement for overtime pay for officers for the investigation of homicides in Jackson County, as part of the Prosecuting Attorney's Homicide Reduction Plan; and,

WHEREAS, transfers of $24,000.00 within the 2005 Anti Drug Sales Tax Fund and $6,000.00 within the 2005 General Fund are required to place the monies in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the term of the proposed Agreement is November 1, 2005 and will continue through December 31, 2005; now therefore,
