Body
WHEREAS, it has been nearly twenty years since the members of the Board of Equalization have received an increase in salary and compensation; and,

WHEREAS, an increase to that compensation is in the best interest to the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Enacting Clause. Sections 9103. and 9104., Jackson County Code, 1984, are hereby repealed, and two new sections enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 9103. and 9104., to read as follows:

9103. Salary.
Those permanent members of the Board of Equalization who are appointed by the County Executive by reason of Subsection 1 of Section 1 of Article XI of the Jackson County Charter shall each receive a salary of [five hundred dollars ($500)] one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per month, except that [in 1985 and 1986,] they shall receive [additional] compensation of [$1,500] two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) per month for the months of June and [$1,500 for] July.

9104. Compensation.
Those members of the Board of Equalization appointed under Subsections 2 and 3 of Section 1 of Article XI of the Jackson County Charter, who are eligible to receive compensation from Jackson County, shall each receive compensation of [twenty-five dollars ($25)] one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per meeting.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
