Body
WHEREAS, the League of United Latin American Citizens' (LULAC) National Educational Service Centers, Inc. (LNESC) was established in 1973 to provide education and leadership programs for Hispanic and minority students; and,
WHEREAS, since then, LNESC has provided quality education and leadership programs for over 607,000 students, and has sent 159,000 students to post-secondary education, and awarded nearly $30 million in scholarship funds; and,
WHEREAS, LNESC has received more U.S. Department of Education TRIO program awards than any other non-profit organization or post-secondary institution and has worked diligently to remain the premier Hispanic education non-profit for another fifty years and beyond; and,
WHEREAS, the LNESC National Office and LNESC field centers are planning celebratory activities throughout the year, including a one-day youth-centered education conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, focused on college preparation and developing professional skill sets towards student success; and,
WHEREAS, the program will include motivational speakers, professional workshops, and student resources for college and career opportunities, culminating in a reception celebration featuring live music, featured speakers and student voices; and,
WHEREAS, LNESC's positive impact on the future leaders of our community is immeasurable; now therefore,
