AN ORDINANCE transferring $70,000.00 within the 2008 General Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for the purpose of jointly funding a performance audit of the Kansas City and Jackson County Boards of Election Commissioners, at a cost to the County not to exceed $70,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, during the most recent budget process, the County Executive recommended that a performance audit of the Kansas City and Jackson County Boards of Election Commissioners be conducted during 2008; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City's Auditor's Office has agreed to perform the audit in partnership with the County and the City's City Council is now considering an ordinance to authorize this participation; and,
WHEREAS, the total cost to the County to cover a portion of the staff time for the audit shall not exceed $70,000.00, the cost to be charged to each respective election board budget on a pro rata basis; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the required funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2008 General Fund be and hereby is made:
