Body
WHEREAS, the National World War I Museum will be honoring World War I veterans by hosting a Centennial Gala which will take place on Sept. 21, 2026 and will kick off the Beacon Tower Lighting Tribute; and,
WHEREAS, the Beacon Tower Lighting Celebration will illuminate the WWI Museum from September 21 through November 11, 2026; and,
WHEREAS, this sponsorship will allow Jackson County the opportunity to support and honor the sacrifice of veterans in the Jackson County community; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange for its sponsorship, Jackson County will receive advertising and recognition in the event program, website, and social media; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to issue a check to National World War I Museum, in the amount of $50,000.00 for sponsorship of the Centennial Gala event and contribution to the Beacon Tower Lighting Celebration.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
