Body
WHEREAS, Carrie Wheeler Pope passed away on Monday, November 7, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Pope was an exemplary community activist for the Sante Fe Neighborhood for over forty years; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Pope was a devoted member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was well-known for the beautiful flower arrangements and food preparations she provided for the church during her forty-five year membership; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Pope was a woman of great integrity and character and will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the many lives she touched; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature commemorates the life of Carrie Wheeler Pope and extends its sympathy to her family in their loss.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
