Body
WHEREAS, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Affiliated Trust has established a summer evening program which will be operated in eight schools under the administration of Youthnet and The Boys and Girls Clubs; and,
WHEREAS, the focus of the program is drug prevention and the program will consist of career development seminars, life skills training, and academic enrichment; and,
WHEREAS, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Affiliated Trust has received a grant from the Loose Foundation in the amount of $100,000; and,
WHEREAS, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Affiliated Trust has requested matching funds in the amount of $100,000.00 to implement its program; and,
WHEREAS, this is the first year for this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Affiliated Trust for its summer evening program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
