Body
WHEREAS, County has a need for the purchase of Data Circuit Upgrades for County wide departmental operations; and
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $25,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing has determined that the items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source, SBC-ASI Division (Southwestern Bell) of San Antonio, TX; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the purchase be made as recommended by the Director of Purchasing, and that the Purchasing Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchase; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
