A RESOLUTION celebrating entrepreneurial free enterprise, and commending Chad Nash and Doug Markussen for their ingenuity and diligence in establishing their own retail computer store.

Body
WHEREAS, Chad Nash, an 18-year-old senior at Blue Springs High School, and Doug Markussen, a 16-year-old sophomore at Blue Springs South High School, have been best friends since early childhood; and,
WHEREAS, as teenagers, Chad and Doug's first business enterprise together involved mowing lawns and cleaning driveways; and,
WHEREAS, their interests gradually shifted to computers, which they learned to repair and install, so they decided to use this knowledge to begin a new business venture; and,
WHEREAS, through vigorous telemarketing and advertising methods, Chad and Doug let people in the Blue Springs area know of their computer services and additionally offered to design Web sites, install and upgrade software, and tutor computer novices; and,
WHEREAS, as they became known through marketing efforts and by word of mouth, Chad and Doug established their computer upgrade and repair company business in the basement of Chad's home, where it grew into a prosperous enterprise; and,
WHEREAS, in December of 1997, Chad and Doug moved "Premier Computers" to their own store located on Woods Chapel Road in Blue Springs; and,
WHEREAS, sincere congratulations go out to these two young men for their ingenuity and diligence in pursuing their dream; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby celebrates entrepreneurial free enterprise, and commends Chad Nash and Doug Markussen for their flourishing business, wishing them success in all future endeavors...Attorney
