AN ORDINANCE appropriating $489,500.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2003 Grant Fund to cover a grant awarded by the United States National Park Service for the Fort Osage Education Center and authorizing the County Executive to execute a Modification of the Agreement regarding this project.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3281, dated August 19, 2002, and Ordinance 3390, dated August 4, 2003, the County has previously accepted grants totalling $163,000.00 from the National Park Service for the Fort Osage Education Center and executed an Agreement and a prior modification to Agreement regarding this project; and,
WHEREAS, the National Park Service has now awarded the County a final grant for this project in the amount of $489,500.00, bringing federal funding to a total of $652,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place these additional grant funds in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2003 Grant Fund be made:
