Body
WHEREAS, on March 8, 1967, Bonnie Simmons began her employment for the County under the County Court of Judges Charles Curry, Alex Petrovic, and Charles Wheeler, and later, after the adoption of the County Charter, served under six County Executives; and,
WHEREAS, Bonnie served in various capacities during her tenure with Jackson County including fifteen years as head cashier where she exhibited exceptional dedication and hard work; and,
WHEREAS, Bonnie deserves the highest of praise and recognition for her work, having admirably fulfilled her many responsibilities as a trustworthy and responsible employee of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Bonnie will always be remembered by co-workers as a friend and mentor, and by the public as an outstanding information source; and,
WHEREAS, her pleasant personality and beautiful smile will be missed by the community she greets; and,
WHEREAS, Bonnie and her husband, Gilbert, have been blessed with 7 children, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, a reception honoring Bonnie Simmons will be held March 6, 1998 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the legislative conference room; and,
WHEREAS, admiration, respect, appreciation, and warm friendship go out to Bonnie for her thirty years of unparalleled service to Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Bonnie Simmons upon her retirement, thanks her for thirty years of dedicated service, and wishes her success in all future endeavors.
