Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17140, dated January 19, 2010, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an agreement with Neighborhood Services (49/63) which engages in anti-drug treatment activities and purposes, for a period ending December 31, 2010; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 17470, dated January 18, 2011, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an extension to the agreement with Neighborhood Services (49/63), through April 30, 2011; and,

WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff has recommended that the County Executive be authorized to extend the existing agreement with Neighborhood Services (49/63) for anti-drug treatment activities and purposes, through September 30, 2011, at no additional cost to the County; and,


WHEREAS, the recommended extension will allow Neighborhood Services to utilize the allocation provided to it in 2010, but which it has encountered a delay in spending due to significant staff changes; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an extension to the agreement with Neighborhood Services (49/63), through September 30, 2011, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement, as extended.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
