Body
WHEREAS, William O. "Bill" Snyder passed away August 18, 2004, and is survived by his sons, William G. "Bill" and Brandon; one daughter, Amie; his beloved companion, Robyn Ann Williams; ex-wife, Mona Snyder; one grandchild, Mariah, step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and,

WHEREAS, Bill was known to many as the owner and founder of Snyder's Supermarket and Jackson Square Super; and,

WHEREAS, Bill was well-known from his two terms on the Independence City Council from 1980 to 1988; and,

WHEREAS, Bill delivered on his campaign promises by reforming city government, reopening the Independence Square streets, and restoring the jobs of many of illegally fired union workers; and,

WHEREAS, Bill became an avid and skilled golfer; and,

WHEREAS, Bill was loved by his employees, former employees, friends, and family and will always be remembered; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature honors the life and works of William O. "Bill" Snyder for his distinguished career as a businessman and politician.



Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
