WHEREAS, Bishop James Dennis Tindall will have served as pastor of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ for thirty-one (31) years as of December 9, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall was born on June 6, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he attended W.W. Yates Elementary School, and later graduated from Manual High School and,
WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall attended Western Baptist Bible College, graduated from Carver Bible College in 1975, and received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 1978 from Maryland School of Religion; and,
WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall was ordained in July 1976 at First Church of Deliverance in Chicago, Illinois, by Reverend Clarence H. Cobbs; and,
WHEREAS, he was appointed to be Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ by the Reverend Dr. Logan Kearse; and,
WHEREAS, on November 8, 1996, Bishop Tindall was elevated to the office of Bishop by the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Arthur Leonard Posey; and,
WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall and his wife of thirty-eight years, Frances, have six children, fifteen grandchildren and a great grandchild; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Bishop James Dennis Tindall, Sr., upon the occasion of his 31st pastoral anniversary celebration.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
