Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has solicited proposals for the furnishing of two (2) pre-trained dual purpose explosive detection dogs, handler training, and equipment, for use by its K-9 unit; and,

WHEREAS, it has received as the lowest three proposals thereon proposals from the following:

Denver, Indiana
and,
WHEREAS, following evaluation of the proposals submitted, which generally comply with the County's purchasing guidelines, the Purchasing Director has recommended that a purchase order be issued to Northern Michigan K-9, Inc., of Harrison, MI, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best proposal; and,

WHEREAS, in order to fund this purchase, an appropriation is necessary; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation as an amendment to her 2002 proposed County budget; therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 2002 Special Road and Bridge Fund:
