Body
WHEREAS, the County owns a tract of land adjacent to, but which is not a part of, the Harry S. Truman Sports complex, lying generally east of I-435, south of I-70, and north of Brookfield (Stadium) Drive; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 14440, dated February 3, 2003, the County did enter into a Consulting Agreement with Resolute Development Co., LLC, whereunder Resolute agreed to produce a real estate development plan for the tract and work to attract a project to the tract, at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, Resolute has requested that this Agreement be continued for an additional year; and,
WHEREAS, it remains understood by all that, if the development plan recommended calls for the sale of the tract to a private party, that can only be accomplished by an open and public bid; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Extension to Consulting Agreement adequately sets out the rights and obligations of the parties with regard to this arrangement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Extension to Consulting Agreement with Resolute Development Co., LLC.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
