Body
WHEREAS, Benilde Hall's Transitional Living program is designed to promote balanced and responsible independent living in Jackson County for the purpose of preventing the relapse of chemically-dependent homeless persons through transitional housing and substance abuse treatment; and,

WHEREAS, Benilde Hall has requested $90,000.00 in anti-drug sales tax funds to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and,

WHEREAS, these funds will be used as a local match to a Missouri Housing Development Commission grant in the amount of $500,000.00 for this program; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Benilde Hall for its Transitional Living Program; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
