Body
WHEREAS, Xavier Loya serves with dedication and courage as a firefighter for the Kansas City Fire Department, risking his life to protect the safety and well-being of the city's residents; and,
WHEREAS, beyond his duties as a first responder, Xavier has become a visible and passionate advocate for diversity and equity within public service, using his voice to highlight the importance of Latino representation in the fire service and other civic professions; and,
WHEREAS, through his advocacy, Xavier has inspired other young people from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in public safety, ensuring that the Kansas City Fire Department reflects the rich diversity of the community it serves; and,
WHEREAS, his work exemplifies the highest ideals of service, leadership, and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment within one of Kansas City's most vital institutions; and,
WHEREAS, we honor Xavier Loya for his bravery as a firefighter, his dedication to public service, and his leadership in championing diversity, representation, and opportunity in Kansas City's fire service; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature does hereby honor Xavier Loya a firefighter and advocate.

Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
