Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County recognizes the outstanding contributions of Ramon and Sally Murguia, lifelong advocates for community service, education, and social progress, who have been named recipients of the 2024 Founders Civility Award; and,

WHEREAS, Ramon and Sally Murguia, residents of the Argentine neighborhood in Kansas City, Kansas, embody a shared commitment to creating lasting change through their leadership, philanthropy, and grassroots efforts; and,

WHEREAS, Ramon's leadership extends nationally through his service on the W.K. Kellog Foundation Board of Trustees and his instrumental role in organizing a coalition of major Latino-led foundations, reflecting his enduring commitment to equity and empowerment; and,

WHEREAS, Sally Murguia, formerly a partner at Dietrich et. al, has devoted her career to grassroots volunteerism, chairing the Argentine Betterment Corporation and spearheading initiatives like the Argentine Neighborhood Development Association, which she chaired from 2004 to 2013; and,

WHEREAS, Ramon and Sally's contributions have left an indelible impact on Kansas City and beyond, as they continue to reside in the Argentine neighborhood, a testament to their deep roots and enduring commitment to their community.


WHEREAS, that the Jackson County Legislature honors Ramon and Sally Murguia for their extraordinary achievements and congratulates them on receiving the 2024 Founders Civility Award at the Evening on the Square event on December 9, 2024, at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature expresses of our deepest gratitude for their unwavering dedication to the betterment of Kansas ...
