AN ORDINANCE incorporating the town of River Bend, Missouri, and appointing its initial board of trustees.

Body
WHEREAS, On August 21, 1996, a petition for the incorporation of the Town of River Bend was filed with the Clerk of the Legislature, pursuant to 80.010 et seq., RSMo 1994, and Chapter 25, Jackson County Code, 1984; and,

WHEREAS, said petition was signed by at least two-thirds of the taxable inhabitants of the proposed town, set forth the metes and bounds of the proposed town, and otherwise complied with all applicable provisions of 80.010 et seq., and Chapter 25; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature conducted a public hearing on said petition on October 28, 1996; and,

WHEREAS, after careful consideration of all of the evidence and arguments adduced on the record at said hearing, the Legislature finds that the prayer of the petition is reasonable; therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Town of River Bend, Missouri, as legally described by the metes and bounds set out in Exhibit A attached hereto, be and hereby is incorporated; and,

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the powers and duties of the Town of River Bend shall be vested in its board of trustees, which shall initially consist of the following five individuals:
David Obermeyer
Ronald D. Wheeler
Connie Jane Larkin
William L. Larkin
Paul A. Angelides
and,

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Paul A. Angelides and Ronald D. Wheeler shall serve initial terms of two years from the effective date of this ordinance and the remaining trustees shall serve initial terms of one year...Attorney
Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
