Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11199, dated March 4, 1996, the Legislature did authorize the Director of the Department of Finance to make payments totalling $224,368.00 in 1996 to the Corrigan Building Corp., required by the Kansas City Election Board's lease for space in the Corrigan Building in downtown Kansas City, necessitated by the construction of the new Detention Center Annex; and,
WHEREAS, included in the amount authorized under Resolution 11199 was $60,000 to reimburse the landlord for improvements and remodeling at the new space; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has advised that the expenses for the necessary improvements and remodeling have exceeded the original estimate for this work, such that an additional $25,000 will be needed to make the space suitable for occupancy by the Election Board; and,
WHEREAS, these additional funds were appropriated in the newly- created Justice Improvement Fund in the 1996 Jackson County Budget; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make additional payments not to exceed $25,000, for a new total not to exceed $245,368.80, to the Corrigan Building Corp., upon the advice of the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
