Body
WHEREAS, the Family Court Division has been awarded a grant by State of Missouri,
Department of Social Services for the period of the 2026 budget year; and,
WHEREAS, the Division of Youth Services has authorized funds under this grant in the amount of $52,000.00 for the Parenting with Love and Limits Project; and,
WHEREAS, the Parenting with Love and Limits Project will combine parent education and group therapy programs with individual coaching sessions for adolescents and their parents; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant is to initiate and sustain mental health and trauma treatment by way of individual therapy for youth referred to Family Court; and,
WHEREAS, the grant does not require local matching funds; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to place the additional grant funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the undesignated fund balance of the 2026 Grant Fund:
