INTRODUCED BY Fred Arbanas, Henry C. Rizzo, Dan Tarwater, Theresa Garza Ruiz, Scott Burnett, James D. Tindall, Dennis Waits, Greg Grounds, and Bob Spence, County Legislators

Body
WHEREAS, Lindell K. Lee, International Secretary-Treasurer of IBEW International Union, has been selected as Labor's Representative of the Year for 2010; and,

WHEREAS, after service in the United States Navy, and initiation into Local Union #124, Lindell became active in his local union, successfully running for the Executive Board and serving as Chairman for several years; and,

WHEREAS, while working as a journeyman electrician, Lindell studied collective bargaining and labor law at Rockhurst College, earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, and completed a master's degree in business management from Webster University; and,

WHEREAS, while serving as Business Manager of Local #124, Lindell focused on organizing and increasing membership and was active in the Kansas City labor movement, serving as President of the Kansas City Building Trades and on the executive boards of the Kansas City Labor Council and Missouri State Building Trades; and,
WHEREAS, in 2002, Lindell was appointed to the IBEW Eleventh District Staff as International Representative, serving construction local unions in Missouri and serving as the Eleventh District organizing coordinator; and,

WHEREAS, Lindell was appointed IBEW Eleventh District Vice President in 2005, where he represented IBEW members in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota; and,

WHEREAS, in 2008, Lindell was appointed International Secretary-Treasurer of the IBEW, which currently serves over 700,000 members, and he also serves as trustee to the IBEW...
