Body
WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 4, 2000, the Lee's Summit girls cross country "Pack Attack," led by seven outstanding runners, tallied 129 points to become the first Kansas City area school to claim the Class 5A State title; and,

WHEREAS, team leader Melissa Hix ended the season with an outstanding record including honors at All Conference, All District, All Metro, All Area and All State, finishing 11th out of 157 runners at State while maintaining a 4.32 GPA, ranking 5th out of 514 in her senior class; and,

WHEREAS, team member Rachel Nelson, after being a top runner on the 1999 team, overcame an injury sustained early in the 2000 season, finishing 33rd out of 157 at State, and earning All District and All Metro honors while maintaining a 4.27 GPA, ranking 7th out of 514 in her senior class; and,

WHEREAS, team member Amy Stetzler, a sophomore, moved from the junior varsity team last year to one of the top runners on the 2000 varsity team, earning All District and All Metro honors, finishing 31st out of 157 at state, while maintaining a 3.66 GPA; and,

WHEREAS, team member Toni Picerno, a freshman on the varsity team, earned Honorable Mention All Metro and 2nd Team All Area, finishing 45th out of 157 at State, while achieving "straight A" grades; and,

WHEREAS, team member Lauren White, a sophomore, moved from junior varsity in 1999 to the 2000 varsity team, earning All District honors, Honorable Mention All Metro, 2nd Team All Area, while maintaining a 3.47 GPA; and,

WHEREAS, team member Katheryn Evans, a junior and the most dedicated runner, earned honors at 2nd Team All Area and Honorable Mention All Metro, finishing 54th out of 1...
