Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 08-2003 for the construction of the Old 40 Highway Bridge Replacement, Project, No. 2429; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon, bids from the following:

Columbia, MO
G C Construction $859,721.80
Blue Springs, MO
L. G. Barcus Construction $879,786.40
Kansas City, KS
and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Boone Construction Co. of Columbia, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that a contract on Bid No. PW 08-2003 in the amount of $754,381.00, be awarded to Boone Construction Co. of Columbia, MO, as the lowest and best bidder, and that the Public Works Director be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to adjust the contract line item quantities provided that, in doing so, there is no additional financial obligation to the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract, and to encumber $754,381.00 to cover the cost of the construction.
