A RESOLUTION expressing the intent of the Legislature to provide funding for the 2007 Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration in an amount not to exceed $60,000.00, in connection with the adoption of the 2007 annual Jackson County budget.

Body
WHEREAS, for the past several years, the County has provided funding to partially support the annual Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to express its continued support for this event but, due to the transition in County administrations and current state of flux regarding the County's 2007 annual budget, is unable to identify specific funding at this time; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby expresses its intent to fund the 2007 annual Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration, at the 2006 level of $60,000.00, in connection with the adoption of the County's 2007 annual budget.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
