Body
WHEREAS, the County recognizes its statutory obligations to the poor under Section 205.580, et. seq. RSMo, and desires to provide service programs for the elderly; and,
WHEREAS, the County and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) desire to enter into a Cooperative Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, whereunder the County will pay MARC $50,750.00 to provide a variety of aging programs and services and to subcontract with other agencies providing such services; and,
WHEREAS, under this Agreement MARC is authorized to subcontract with the Palestine Senior Citizens' Activity Center in an amount not to exceed $50,750.00 to fund its activities; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
