Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Public Safety has awarded a grant to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office for its Night Lights/Sentenced to the Arts" programs; and,

WHEREAS, under the Night Lights program, the Jackson County Family Court, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, and the Independence, Missouri Police Department will form a collaborative effort to provide evening and late night supervision to youth who are considered high risk for re-offending; and,

WHEREAS, Pan Educational Institute (PEI) will oversee and implement the Sentenced to the Arts program, in cooperation with the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office and the City of Kansas City; and,

WHEREAS, PEI will also contract with entrepreneurs and community art organizations, and will be the intermediary between the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, the City of Kansas City and the artists involved in the programs; and,

WHEREAS, the Alternative School Network Association will, under a separate contract, will serve as the intermediary between the project staff and the school districts; and,

WHEREAS, Central Missouri State University will provide evaluation services to determine the effectiveness of the Sentenced to the Arts program; and,
