Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 1586, dated August 17, 1987, the Jackson County Legislature deemed it a public necessity to construct sewers for sanitary purposes for the Carriage Oaks subdivision, further creating Sewer District #102 to be known as the Carriage Oaks Sewer District; and,

WHEREAS, by Ordinance 1734, dated April 4, 1989, the Jackson County Legislature submitted to qualified voters a ballot issue to assess each parcel of land in District #102 - Carriage Oaks at a flat monthly fee not to exceed $89.00; and,

WHEREAS, in September 2022 the City of Blue Springs acquired the Carriage Oaks/Highland Ranch subdivision; and,

WHEREAS, the Carriage Oaks/Highland Ranch subdivision has a small water treating plant that treats their wastewater, which was managed by the Jackson County Department of Environmental Health until the annexation in September 2022 by the City of Blue Springs; and,

WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $66,077.00, which were collected from the Carriage Oaks/Highland Ranch subdivisions for maintenance, remain in the Sewer Fund, and the neighborhood association of Carriage Oaks has requested the funds be reimbursed to join the Carriage Oaks/Highland Ranch subdivisions; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to disburse the funds remaining in the Sewer Fund to the subdivision of Carriage Oaks/Highland Ranch; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to issue a check to Carriage Oaks/Hig...
