Body
WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police, West Central Missouri Regional Lodge 50, the bargaining unit for the certain associates within the Sheriff's Office, has submitted a request to increase the benefits of members of its bargaining unit under the Jackson County Employees' Pension Plan; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 105.665, RSMo, an actuarial study is required to determine the cost of such an increase before it can be considered for implementation; and,
WHEREAS, Cheiron of McLean, VA, was selected by the Pension Plan's Board of Trustees after competitive solicitation to provide such services to the Board; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislative Auditor recommends an agreement with Cheiron to complete the required actuarial study, at a cost to the County not to exceed $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, execution of an agreement for this study is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chairman of the Legislature be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County an Agreement with Cheiron, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
