Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11543, dated December 9, 1996, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute agreements with certain organizations which engage in drug treatment and rehabilitation activities; and,

WHEREAS, one of the agreements authorized by Resolution 11543 was with Children's Mercy Hospital, in the amount of $26,243.00; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 12222, dated June 1, 1998, Children's Mercy Hospital was authorized to receive an extension of time to allow for the continuation of services in connection with its longitudinal study of drug exposed infants, at no additional cost to the County; and,

WHEREAS, the addendum to contract with Children's Mercy Hospital implementing this extension has not been executed as Children's Mercy Hospital now realizes it will need still more time to complete its project; and,

WHEREAS, the attached First Addendum to Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement this extension; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Resolution 12222, dated June 1, 1998, be and hereby is rescinded; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached First Addendum to Agreement with Children's Mercy Hospital; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement and the Addendum thereto.
