IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI

Title
A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a contract with the Western Missouri Mental Health Center, for the purpose of providing auricular acupuncture treatment services, for the Prosecuting Attorney's Deferred Prosecution, Drug Court, and Criminal Justice Treatment Network Programs, at a cost to the County not to exceed $87,286.66.

Body
WHEREAS, the voters of the County approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and,

WHEREAS, the County has recommended a contract out of anti-drug sales tax funds with the Western Missouri Mental Health Center, for the purpose of providing auricular acupuncture treatment services, for the Prosecuting Attorney's Deferred Prosecution, Drug Court, and Criminal Justice Treatment Network Programs; and,

WHEREAS, the attached contract sets forth the agreement and understanding of the parties; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached contract with the Western Missouri Mental Health Center; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
