Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has a continuing need for vehicles to transport inmates to court and other appointments, also to attend to staff that are at offsite posts; and,
WHEREAS, the vehicles will help to accommodate the transportation needs of the Jackson County Detention Center and its ability to maintain safe and reliable transportation; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Sheriff and Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the award of a contract for the furnishing of an ADA inmate transport van, a transport van, and two SUV's for use by the Sheriff's Office to Gary Crossley Ford of Kansas City, under the terms and conditions of an existing competitively bid State of Missouri Contract No. MC250182001, at an actual total cost to the County in the amount of $216,293.00; and,
WHEREAS, an award under the state contract is recommended due to the significant discounts offered to larger entities; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made under the existing competitively bid government contract as recommended by the Sheriff and Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final...
