WHEREAS, with the construction of the new Harry S Truman Sports Complex Renovation Project, it has become apparent that the County's Prevailing Wage Compliance Program should be expanded to provide enforcement tools similar to those employed by the State of Missouri and the City of Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, in connection with this expansion, it is also appropriate that the County Code's existing provisions relating to the powers of the Compliance Review Officer be updated; and,
WHEREAS, such expansion and updating are in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County as follows:
Section A. Enacting Clause. Sections 624., 627., 628., 629., and 658., Jackson County Code, 1984, are hereby repealed and three new sections and one new chapter enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 624., 629., and 658., and chapter 19, entitled "Prevailing Wage Compliance Program, " consisting of sixteen new sections, to be known as sections 1900, 1901., 1902., 1903., 1904., 1905., 1906., 1907., 1908., 1909., 1910., 1911., 1912., 1913., 1914., and 1915., all to read as follows:
624. Salary.
The salary of the CRO shall be [less than $20,000 or more than $35,000] established by the County Legislature pursuant to section 285. of this code.
