RESOLUTION NO. 18160, May 6, 2013

Body
WHEREAS, Raytown High School Principal, Dr. Brian Huff, was recently honored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) as the 2013 Missouri High School Principal of the Year; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Huff was awarded this recognition based on his impact in the areas of collaborative leadership, curriculum, instruction and assessment, and his personalization of the learning environment; and,

WHEREAS, this award is given annually by the MASSP from more than 600 high school principals from throughout Missouri, and was presented to Dr. Huff at the annual MASSP spring conference held at the Lodge of the Four Seasons, Lake Ozark, MO, on Monday, March 25, 2013; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Huff joined the Raytown School district in 2007, after serving as assistant principal at Grandview Middle School, and principal at Hillcrest School in Jos, Nigeria, where he assisted the school in becoming accredited so its students could attend college in the United States; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Huff received a bachelor of science in secondary science and math education in 1992 from Southwest Baptist University, where he played football and was named in the Top 100 of Who's Who in American University; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Huff also holds a master of arts in educational administration from the University of Phoenix and doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Kansas; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Huff will represent Missouri in the 2014 MetLife National Association of Secondary School Principals' High School Principal of the Year Program; and,

WHEREAS, he and his wife Elizabeth have six children, Bree, Katie, Jessie, Brad, Samuel, and Bryson; now ...
