Body
WHEREAS, in August of 1998 Danielle Roemer, a junior at Lee's Summit North High School, was selected as Miss Missouri American Teen; and,
WHEREAS, in November of 1998 Danielle became first runner up in the Miss American Teen contest; and,
WHEREAS, the Miss American Teen participants are judged on talent (Danielle's talent is singing), a speech, an interview, and evening gown competition; and,
WHEREAS, as a student at Lee's Summit North High School, Danielle participated in the Youth in Government program in Jefferson City where she was elected as House Secretary; and,
WHEREAS, Danielle also participates in the Lee's Summit DARE program and is a varsity cheerleader; and,
WHEREAS, Danielle deserves the highest of praise for her outstanding accomplishments; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Danielle Roemer upon being selected as Miss Missouri American Teen and runner up in the Miss American Teen contest, and for representing her school and community in her academic and athletic endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
