Body
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended the execution of a Cooperative Agreement ("Agreement") with DeLaSalle Education Center ("DeLaSalle") to provide $4,167.00 for its DeLaSalle Middle School Program ("Program"); and,
WHEREAS, the Program provides a small group educational setting designed to meet the learning needs of at-risk students identified as having substance abuse problems or who live with substance abusers; and,
WHEREAS, this program will also provide counseling and other services to include violence prevention, anger control, vocational exploration and crisis intervention; and,
WHEREAS, the Program is supported by a grant from the Kansas City, Missouri School District, in the amount of $795,492.00; and,
WHEREAS, DeLaSalle has requested Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds in the amount of $4,167.00 to provide a portion of a required local match, with the remainder to be provided by other agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the term for this Agreement is December 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
