Body
WHEREAS, all sixteen Kids Country school-age care programs in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District, in their commitment to meet robust and rigorous national standards of quality, earned the National AfterSchool Association's ("NAA") accreditation; and,

WHEREAS, the sixteen Kids Country programs are as follows:
Cedar Creek Meadow Lane
Greenwood Pleasant Lea
Hawthorn Hill Prairie View
Hazel Grove Richardson
Highland Park Trailridge
Lee's Summit Underwood
Longview Farm Westview
Mason Woodland
and,


WHEREAS, each afterschool program had to meet the NAA Standards for Quality School-Age Care which includes 36 keys with 144 standards in six categories; and,

WHEREAS, the accreditation from the NAA was awarded after each program completed an intensive program improvement plan which included conducting surveys, creating a quality improvement team, completing a self-assessment, and ensuring an ongoing program improvement; and,

WHEREAS, the accreditation system was launched in 1998 and is continually evaluated and updated to reflect current best practices in after school and youth programing; and,

WHEREAS, NAA partners with many organizations, agencies, and individuals from the field, including the Afterschool Alliance, Department of Defense, YMCA, YWCA, Boys and Girls Club, 4-H, Department of Education, state licensing agencies, and other youth-serving agencies to ensure practices are current, reliable, and supportive of the programs and the young people they serve; and,
