Body
WHEREAS, Guadalupe Center, Inc. has received a grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in the amount of $75,000.00, for Guadalupe Center's Alta Vista Alternative School, a nationally accredited alternative high school reaching multi-ethnic dropouts and at-risk youth, and to provide emergency, short-term, school- aged, child care for children referred to Guadalupe Center by social services; and,

WHEREAS, Guadalupe has requested County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Matching Funds in the amount of $25,000.00 to implement its program; and,

WHEREAS, this is the first year for this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Guadalupe Center; and,


BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
