WHEREAS, in 1885, the 9th Street Incline made its inaugural journey from atop Quality Hill down to West Bottoms, connecting Kansas City's bustling residential areas to its thriving freight and livestock hubs near Union Depot, playing a crucial role in the city's development during the Industrial Revolution; and,
WHEREAS, nearly five generations later, Incline has returned, transforming into a modern dining destination that honors the legacy of its historic location while offering a fresh take on culinary excellence and hospitality; and,
WHEREAS, Incline on 9th blends urban chic style with a deep appreciation for the rich heritage of Kansas City's historic West Bottoms, an area once famously known as "The Wettest Block in the World"; and,
WHEREAS, Incline provides an elevated dining experience through its thoughtfully crafted menu featuring locally sourced ingredients, hand-crafted cocktails, and expertly curated beer and wine selections, catering to lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late-night guests alike; and,
WHEREAS, Incline enhances Kansas City's cultural and social scene by hosting special events and offering a unique atmosphere that celebrates the past while embracing modern tastes and experiences; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby proudly recognizes Incline on 9th for its commitment to preserving Kansas City's historic charm while contributing to the city's vibrant dining and entertainment landscape.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
