Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office currently has a need for sixteen (16) new fleet vehicles for daily use; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary for effective fleet maintenance that new vehicles be purchased; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Sheriff and Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the award of a contract for the furnishing of vehicles for use by the Sheriff's Office to Corwin Motors of Springfield, LLC, of Springfield, MO, under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. MC250182004, an existing competitively bid government contract, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $688,448.00; and,

WHEREAS, an award under the state contract is recommended due to the significant discounts offered to larger entities; now therefore,


BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made under the existing competitively bid government contract as recommended by the Sheriff and Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
