Body
WHEREAS, the County acknowledges a donation received from the D.W. Newcomer family for the construction and art work of the "grand entrance" at the Longview Horse Park; and,
WHEREAS, the donation was made in honor of a request made by Becky Newcomer prior to her death; and,
WHEREAS, the gate and the artwork of the "grand entrance" were created by Becky's daughter, Courtney Newcomer; and,
WHEREAS, the entrance design features stone walls, a Longview Horse Park sign, wrought iron gates containing the logo Loula Long-Combs used on her stalls, and metal horse silhouettes on both sides of the gate along the top of the stone walls; and,
WHEREAS, this gift is a welcomed addition to Jackson County and the Longview Horse Park that will be appreciated by all users of the horse park for many years to come; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby acknowledges a donation received from the D.W. Newcomer family for the construction and art work of the "grand entrance" at the Longview Horse Park .
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
