Body
WHEREAS, every year the month of March is designated as Women's History Month by Presidential Proclamation, to honor women's contributions in American history and recognize trailblazing women who are doing work that lifts up their communities; and,
WHEREAS, recognition is in order for Nicki Jones, one of our community's champions who works to improve the health and fitness of residents of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones started a business named NickiFit as she channeled her ability to lead and motivate others, helping many people achieve inner well-being and physical movement goals; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones started from the vision that those seeking health would never be alone, she would expand this vision to serve as many people as possible succeeding with fitness for free model; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones was voted "Best Female Fitness Trainer" in the 2023 Kansas City People's Choice Awards, she is also in Michale Price's award-winning mini-documentary Libraries Out Loud: A Literacy Beyond Words, and will be featured in the national documentary, Free for All by Serendipity Films; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature hereby honors Nicki Jones, a trailblazer fighting to make the Jackson County community more informed, healthier, and fit.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
